Hello, I have a 1986 F250 6.9, and i have gotten a small injector/injection pump problem. One of my wires leading in to the injection pump has broke and is just dangling.(Its one of the two leading into the top of the ip) But my truck still run fine with no loss in power.
But that not the problem(well kinda is), Now my front three injectors on the passanger side leak fuel badly. If i fix this wire will this solve my injector problem or should i go and replace all of the injectors and ip?
Just hate to see the old truck down like this and its my daily driver so i need help fast. Other than that its been a great truck with no other problems.
If the injectors are leaking around the plastic caps at the top, you need to redo your return lines. Best thing to do is buy an 'injector install kit' which includes the caps, hose and other parts. However, most of these kits include buna o-rings, when Viton is a much better choice and will last longer. Typ4 (one of the members here) sells these kits with viton o-rings though.
The wire is likely for your high speed idle since it still runs, as the other one should be for the fuel shut-off solenoid.
