If you still need a pic of a 65 battery tray, let me know - I can snap one later today for you.

Do not need a pic so much as verification of the spacing. On my battery tray (or whats left of it) I have the front hole for the hold down still there. Its roughly about 5" from the corner. I just need the center of the hole on the hold down that is on the other side.

Gotcha. I compared with mine, it looks like your diagram is right - roughly 5" offset from the corner. If you're looking at the front of the truck with the top being the rear and the bottom here being the front:

Code:
--5"--
------[ ]-----------

-----------[ ]------
--5"--

Thanks man, that what I figured when I looked at the pic Carras posted.

I will probably bang out the CAD drawings for the sides this week. Should be pretty easy. That way if people got a junk battery tray they can just look at the drawing and fab one up rather than a bunch of guessing, heh. Ive spent enough time "winging it" and wish I had some good pictures once in awhile.

Here is an overhead and side view of the battery tray. Should be pretty easy to do a take off from this to actually make the piece.

If anyone needs the original 3D file or a view from another angle, dont be afraid to ask! I figure Ive gotten plenty out of this community, I have no problems giving some back!

Had some time to kill this afternoon so I figured I would draw up the side pieces. Heres a couple of pictures. Should be pretty accurate.

I did not figure in the angle for the cut and bend for the right side. This is something that will have to be compared to the old part. I figure its about 10-15 degrees.

On the long edges, (7 1/2" & 9 3/8" & 11 7/16") if using thinner steel like 20g, I would add a 3/8 hem to stiffen them up a little bit.

The dimensions on this are based on the inside! I did not figure the thickness of the steel into my dimensions so keep that in mind when making this part as 16g will add 1/16", 18g or 20g slightly less.
