i posted once before about my truck shacking and the suggestions given were vary helpfully but after investigating it still shacks but has gotten better. it happens the most when i'm at about 45 mph and i go from coasting to gassing. it feels like its coming from the rear. I've watched the top of the tailgate when it was shacking and its visible.
i have already changed the the u-joints in the rear drive shaft, changed all four shocks, and removed the wheel spacers i had on there.
when i changed the u-joints the "thingy" the u-joint is bolted to at the axle one of the four screw holes were cracked and 1/4 of the thread were broke off. ill try getting a picture soon.
I believe the "thingy" your talking about is called the yoke... if this is cracked I would not drive it anymore untill you fix it. I know you have drove it and it has not come apart, but I would consider that luck, and not push it.
You need to replace this part thats cracked, they are not that expensive and its not to hard to find a good one at a junk yard... just be sure the sealing surface is not scored.
I cant for the life of me figure why you didnt replace it when you did the u-joints

Yeah that sounds about right. The word slipped my mind for a min. I didn't replace it for 2 reasons. 1 I didn't think it was that bad to be running out for a new part when I had to hurry to be somewhere. 2 I don't have a lot of tools and didn't know if I had to mess with something in the diff.

yea that makes sence... you will have to excuse me, things get kinda one sided when all you can do is give advise and pass judgement through this comp screen....
I think that driveshaft came out of that truck under power once and bent that shaft when it hit the ground... when that happened thats when the dammage happened to the yolk. the owner at the time put a new u-joint in it and called it good... And a slightly bent shaft is what is causing your vibration...This is my theory... I bet im close if not dead on ***** acurate

Would a bent drive shaft make it wiggle all the time? Yeah that could be possible the guy who owned it before me was a real dumba$$.

it can, but not always... mine is bent and it vibrates between 60-65. My truck was highsided on something before i owned it and its got a dent in it. I have not fixed mine yet because its not that annoying.
Definately is not as bad as yours shaking the whole bed... One thing you can do is take a level, (shorter than the shaft) and put it up to the shaft and see if its bent
