I towed our 5th wheel about 90 miles over some steep terrain this weekend and when we got to our destination we made. left turn and the truck made a grinding noise. My wife even noticed it and we could feel it in the floor board. The next day we ended up on a dirt road looking for a friends house and went through a little ditch that twisted the truck both left then right. As the truck twisted the first time we heard and felt the same thing. I put the truck in park when it did it and the. grinding noise continued. Got out and could hear it from the engine area.
Any one got an idea what this could be? The truck also is a lot louder after pulling the trailer a distance of more than 20 miles.
I guess it could be marbles in a can sound. If it is a flex plate or converter is there a replacement that will last longer and is better than stock parts?
As far as converters PI Stallion's is what BTS puts in his.
I don't know on flex plates.
Another possibility could be fuel pressure. Wouldn't think it would be the same kind of sound. I would think you would notice the loss in power though on fuel.
Neither of those I would call a grinding noise though, they were just thoughts.
