hey guys... did the brakes on my 08f350CC w/20" wheels a few weeks ago... pads were worn and i had a bad caliper on the passenger side...drivers side rotor was fine psngr rotor had a little grooving no need to be turned or replaced... so as im driving when i come to a quicker stop the steering wheel seems to want to jerk left and right or just pull to the drivers side.... not sure what may be causing this... ill have to pull the wheels off again and have a look but any help is much appreciated!!!
When you replace your brake components you should try to replace both sides at the same time. I just did mine and replaced rotors and pads both sides and no problems.
When you say the one rotor had some grooves but didn't need turned, that's a contridiction of terms. If you can see grooves with the naked eye ball you should have it turned. You might also want to make sure the rotors were substance free, no grease or finger print smudges left. Also, I was taught that new pads need to be "burned in". Do a series of hard runs with strong stops, get them good and hot. Do it 4 or 5 times. Let them cool and see if that's better. Good luck
your pulling because of the rotor. Gonna need to replace it quickly. If not too many miles then no new pads.
Should always be replaced at the same time to do the job the best.
One other cause that comes to mind with this jerking action is the slide pins for the calipers. They may need some grease so they let the pistons work easily.
