Looking to upgrade my bulbs to something brighter and wonder if anyone has any experience or advice on a brighter bulb?
Here are the 2 I was looking at-My concerns are life since searching I found people complaining about short life on the ultras, but know nothing about the zXe's. Sylvania SilverStar® zXe - Headlight Capsule
i installed these over a year ago, along with the upgraded harness. absolutely one of the best mods I ever did. Clean white light, never have been "flashed" by oncoming drivers, and the cost, $11.50 is cheap enough I bought 2 extra.

No I got the 80/100's. I know they say 100 hr life but I've had mine for over a year and they are still as bright as ever. the harness is an upgrade to allow full battery voltage to the bulbs, with out excessive amps through the switch. I know I could have built one myself, but they use ceramic ends and 2 relays and its all plug and play. it was just too sweet to pass up.
Again I can't express too much about how happy I am with this setup. My 50 yr old eyes just didn't like driving at night anymore, but with this setup I am more than confident about my night vision again.
I've always had extra lights on my rig, fogs, drivers, etc, with these bulbs I don't need anything else.

Wow, 100 hrs? I guess if you look at how cheap they are, just buy 2 sets I guess? I actually have a company vehicle and rarely drive my P.S. so that might be the way to go.
So where is this harness you speak of? Where can I order that and what's it take to install? Thanks Barny
Have you considered HIDS? I'm runnin DDM tuning 55w 8ks and they are bright as can be plus have a long life.
No I haven't Cody. What' the story with them? Are they all new lights, or just bulbs?
I'm pretty much just looking for cheap and easy on this one. I like the way my lenses and headlights in general look and they are in very good shape.
It's a new harness that utilizes your oem headlight plug. The kit comes with new bulbs, harness and ballast. Basically everything you need for set up. Mine were $90 with shipping but I got the high/low beam set up. I wanna say they have a 50,000 hour life but I could be wrong. I ordered a set for my dad and he loves them.

OK, how hard are they to install?Where did you get 'em?
pretty easy to install, it took me about an hour maybe a little more because I hid the ballast and stuff to make it look nice and neat. Here's the link to them

I got my harness and bulbs from the same place. I was unsure of the exact harness I needed, so I dropped them an email and received an almost instant response. they gave me lead time and correct part #s and were right on schedule with shipping.
as to the 100 hr rating. like I said before, I've been running mine for over a yr and no worries. And the bulbs are cheap enough that I bought 4 up front.
