Rebuild question

Starting to knock on bottom end. Not sure why but once oil flows I have no problem. I am assuming I will need a motor rebuild soon so just an excuse to finally do all the upgrades while I am at it.

Any feedback on Clifford cam vs. isky vs. comp? Looking for all torque. Will cruise at 80 But want to get there fast as hell put back in my seat. It's a 95 efi f150

If you are sticking with the factory fuel injection, you have to stick with a pretty mild cam.

I would not buy a Clifford cam under any circumstances. Isky and Comp are both good choices.

If I recall correctly, others on here have said you can run a Comp 260 without disturbing the computer too much.

Competition Cams have been around quite a while and are considered one of the go to "brand names" in camshafts. I recommend them.

When you have them rebuild the motor, have them balance it. It'll take all the vibration out of the motor, make it run smoother, and it'll make your motor last a good bit longer on the new rebuild.

Will the 260 handle 80mph and get ok gas mileage? this will be my daily driver with a bit more pep but nothing INSANE! Just got a 75' F250 for that. Future DT360 swap in the works

The Isky 256 is computer compatible. Always ck with the manufacturer b/f you buy any cam. The Cliff cam (264) is a high lift/low duration cam for torque. The isky 256 has about same duration, but less v.lift.

The 260 will handle 80 mph just fine. So will the Isky 256. As far as that goes, the stock cam can handle 80 mph. Speeds over 55-60 and it's going to start sucking gas regardless of what cam it has.

With that said what would be the huge difference in the 2? I would like something that gives me as much torque as possible off the line, not looking for a race car but will tow occasionally as i am purchasing several other donor trucks for hard to find parts and will take to drag and would like descent 1/8th times.

No huge (depending on how "huge"is defined) difference between them.
