EGR codes

Well using my Edge Insight CTS and occaonialy my AE during trouble shooting, I would get at times a P0404 and at times a P0405, which

P0404 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Range / Performance
P0405 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit Low

By previous post I've read it would probably be a good idea to get a new EGR valve, since these codes are internal to the EGR valve and if they start going bad then its not working like it should.

Am I correct in my conclusion for these codes or do I need to try something else.
