I got my scangauge II (with x gauge) for like $109 off ebay, but they are normally around $140 on amazon... well worth it too.

I like the Ultra Gauge price. Does anyone have one with a diesel and do they think it was worth it?

The Ultra Gauge doesn't completely work with Ford diesels. I think the main function that is inop is the fuel economy function. For a diesel, you are probably better off with the Scan Gauge.

There are some videos on YouTube of both gauges if that will help.

Both can calibrate and adjust their internal MPH reads, but the units won't change the dash needle reading...just the MPH the units display.

To answer your question more directly, Yes they do make a gauge that will correct speedometer readings. SCT makes several depending on your engine. In order to answer your questions more accurately in the future you may want to complete your "Public Profile". We need to know more about your vehicle.

Both the Scangauge and the Ultragauge are dummy devices. They only display what they are told or translate what they are told. Similar to a monitor on a computer.

You need an SCT tuner or similar to fix a speedometer calibration. Speed correction is done with Revolutions per mile in the PCM.

I have had a question about the Scan Gauge II for a while now. I know it works with a 7.3L Power Stroke Diesel, but is it accurate when using a DP-Tuner? With my DP, the overhead MPG readout is incorrect (reading 20 - 30 MPG; I'm getting about 14mpg). Since the DP changes computer I/O, does this effect the accuracy of the fuel rate and MPG of the ScanGauge II?

If this is OT, or if this has been gone over before, sorry (couldn't find anything). Moderator - Feel Free to Delete.

Thanks,

Greg
