If you haven't seen it yet, Chevy has a slightly funny new commercial for the super bowl. At least it is partly tongue and cheek, as evidenced by the Twinkie's at the end.
While I'm not a ford only fanatic, and I do think this commercial is a bit funny, there's no way I would be caught dead in a new Chevy truck. The current design is just fugly! The rear fender flares are fine if your butt is a double wide, but its not for me.....
I saw that ad last night. What bothered me about it, is I thought this up after seeing dawn of the dead years ago, and now I see that it was a hit (shoulda called ford up and sold em my idea). Either way, I'm glad someone took the post apocalyptic idea and made it a reality. I think it's a neat commercial,
good one but nothing beats the "chevy-sinks like a rock" commercial from a couple year ago with the super duty pulling a chevy up a boat ramp out of the lake. only seen it a few times tho, i think ford got sued over it.
Thats funny that they think they're trucks last longer than ours. My brothers 94 chevy 1500 350 has already been rebuilt, needs rebuilt again, numerous body panels need to be replaced, the bed already has been replaced the 4x4 dont work right and has a lot of design flaws. My 87 f150 300-six has never been rebuilt and looks like a showroom truck compared to his and my 4x4 never fails, ive had to pull his butt out a few times.
Hmmm, longest lasting. I know of 4 chebys around here that were all on there 3rd engine before 200,000.
Plus chevy did get sued once. They put a F150 on little midget tires and then compared the F150 to the 1500 offroad.
But I will agree that chevy is like a rock, slow and ugly.
This is just another version of the same old fairtale they have been pushing forever.. best built, longest lasting.. that's a good one. I don't see any 22yr old Chevys around here but there's still lots of this generation F series on the road.
I don't think that commercial is going to go over well. If you go on yahoo! and check out their story on it, and go thru the comments, it's page after page after page and not one positive towards Chevy or GM, mostly oweing to the government bailout.
