I need some help with finding my problem on my 91 E40D tranny in my F-150. My problem is it shifts good up until 3rd gear and slips going into 3rd all the other gears shift out fine. I was reading around and read some about a shift solenoid, and was wondering if this had anything to do with my problem?
-Any help would be appreciated, thanks
It feels more like a slip than a shudder, its not a long slip, its pretty quick, I don't think its the convertor either since it happens at any speed when it shifts into 3rd. Any tips?
No all codes come through the ecm other than ABS codes. I'd say the solenoid pack is getting weak. Just found this out on mine I kept getting code 628 excessive converter clutch slippage code I had the tranny rebuilt and I found that the tranny shop decided to use my old solenoid pack so therefore I was still having that problem going Monday to get it straightened out.
