I have a question on the fuel filter on the frame rail. Is there two different kinds? The one I took out is black with no lip on the part that goes in. I bought a Ford oem set from a wholesale online supplier. This filter has a extended lip and an o ring on the lip. I went to the auto parts store and their Fram filter looked the same. Does this sound right? If so, do I just push that extended lip in with some force?
Nevermind... After googling and searching around for a while I have found they did update the design. There isn't a lot of information out on this surprisingly, and for how much the length differs, it could really throw a new owner off if they are unaware of it.
I already got the bath when I took the old one out. I think it ruined my carhart jacket. I just have the cap screwed on now to keep the dirt out. I'm goin to put the new filter in this morning now that I know what's going on.

Wash your jacket in listerine.. i read that somewhere.. i did my filters 2 weeks ago.. got all over my jeans, boxers, and hoodie i was wearing.. i haven't washed it yet in listerine.. but apparently that gets the smell out.. maybe take it to a laundromat as to not smell up your washer in your house..
