Hello,
New user here with a question for someone who knows:
I have seen these spacers advertised in different catalogs, and they claim that if you put one of these on, it will increase your HP and torque. Do these really work? Also, I am assuming they sit on top of the manifold, between the EFI or the carb, right? They also claim easy installation of about an hour. Any experience with one of these?
Apparently a 70mm throttlebody spacer will bolt to your stock intake without any modifications. I plan on adding one to mine but with a few more accessories so I notice the change right away. Some have added just the spacer and not noticed any difference and some have? I was told to add a few things all at once so they work with eachother? What are you running?
I am thinking of doing a bit of this & that to a '94 F150 with a 351. The more I learn, the more I realize how much stuff out there is crap or a gimmick, like the tornado gadget I see advertised on TV. Just wondered if the spacer was a useful thing or a bunch of baloney..
Whats the point? Its been proven that when you increase the length of any tube, you increase the resistance to flow of anything going through it. All the throttle body spacer does is increase the amount of distance air has to travel from the outside of the vehicle before it gets to the intake valve. It's pointless and useless, IMO.
