Hey fellas,
I'm looking for a little help decoding my engine.
D9AE-6015-ED
From what I've found, it seems to decode as a 1979 Galaxie engine.
Although....this engine was pulled from a 1984 Bronco.
I'm looking to buy a points distributor for it. I'm assuming it's a 351 Windsor, so I plan to purchase a reman. points distributor from a 70 Mustang with a 351 Windsor.

The casting numbers in no way indicate what vehicle it was originally installed in at the factory. These are the engineering numbers used by Ford, the "A" indicated the vehicle line the costs were assigned to when it was developed. That casting was used for several years after 1979, so it very well is possible it was installed in that 84 Bronco at Ford. Be that as it may, I'm pretty sure any 351W distributor will fit any 351W block, the only change was in the roller 351's in the mid 90's, that would have required a steel geared distributor to match the roller cam.
Through my research I have determined 351w blocks did change counterbalance somewhere around 1979 even though the flexplate remain the same do you harmonic balancer was changed this was the only difference I could find hope this helps you out
