I recently found a 1987 F250 7.5L 4x4 that a farmer had used to pull his hay trailer. The truck had sat for a number of years and after charging the battery I got it to start but soon discovered the carb was bad. I took off the 4180 and it is in no shape to rebuild as apparently some has managed to really screw this thing up. I've decided to sell the thing to my buddy because he wants it for some reason.
I plan to remove all the smog junk to clean up the engine compartment and swap out the carb.
My question is : will a Holley 4160 bolt on to my stock intake? and is this a good carb choice for moderate power and mileage? I would like to get around 9-10mpg and I dont do a lot of towing
