Distributor Cap Location

Sorry for asking this because I know this is a ford truck site but today I was trying to clean some corrosion off my battery post on my ford fusion with water. Well when I went to crank it up it was slow to crank and it has absolutely no power, won't rev at all. From what I already knew, it seems like some moisture got in the distributor cap. Am I right and if I am were can I find the dang thing and how can I fix it? Again sorry for the non truck question but I can't much info anywhere else.

I am not familar with the years the fusion model covers, however I would be suprised if it has a distributor. should have coil pack(what your plug wires connect to instead of distributor) or COPs Every cylinder gets a Coil over the plug. So slow to start is that a slow turnover rpm or slow to fire on all 4? Do you have a strong battery? Not sure what you have going on but in my experience with 4 banger hondas when I sprayed them down at car wash they would run on 2 cylindersthen 3 then all 4 eventually. Water should just evaporate out especially this time of year with our low humidity. If you have no skip and no power I would disconnect the battery for fifiteen minutes to reset the ecu. Start there then work to proper voltage, clear air intake, etc. Good luck Brother!

As Cofcmsc posted, your Fusion has a Coil On Plug (COP) ignition system.

Since this is a Ford truck site, we don't cover the Ford Fusion. But when I saw this thread yesterday, I decided to let it stay because we have no correct forum to move it to that covers the Fusion specifically.

I would suggest you find a Fusion forum where the members can help you diagnose your problem and get your vehicle running at optimum performance.
