I have been wondering what other people do to relax, get away from it all, and forget all your problems. I'd have to say I go out riding my 4-wheeler. I'm outside all the time so that isn't what relaxes me, it's just taking a nice ride and playing around climbing things that makes me forget everything else. Of course sometimes that is when I do a lot of thinking also. The other thing I like to do is go hiking, but don't get to do that to often. So how does everybody else relax, such as fishing or hunting or just listening to music (which I do also).
Get home after work - hook the jet ski's up and go for a ride. Usualy the wife goes also, but some days I go by myself and ride like I want without having to worry about someone else.
Nothing like finding a nice cove where the water is still, laying backwards on the ski, and drifting while taking a nice nap with the sun coming down on you as it sets...
Being single with two teenage daughters i almost never have time to relax.I do have a little time to relax however it's during their summer vacation when they go to their mothers.
My favorite way to relax would be to take a 4 wheeler on a Saturday AM and ride into the mountains until there were no more Roads. Just sit there, enjoy the view from 12,000 feet, above the timberline and campout then take all day to get home. Not many places(states) you can do that as the gov't thinks it needs to close all the roads too the public and OPEN them up to the Commercial lumber interests so they can Clear cut all the tree's. I'm trying to calculate how many Acres would it take to beable to hide from the public. About 5 million I thimk. fd
Before kids
Fly fisih'n, mountain biking, windsurfing , snowboarding, baseball, volleyball, -read a lot...have a few beers with the buds.
Having kids
Camping, teaching the kids how to do all the above without the beer and without sleep.
It would be relaxing to work on the sawmill or restore a truck - except that only happens before 6am or after 8pm lately which is not so relaxing. Thats one reason I drive ford trucks you can beat the snot out of them and they keep on working -freeing some time for relaxing.
...Mostly just puttering in the garage, however, when things get really bothersome I hop on the scooter, pick a direction and cruise...no destination, no worries...just me the bike and the open road.
Before kids? Wow, mine range from 7 to 19 and I can't remember back that far. I usually putter around the house, trying fit in a couple weekend outdoor projects a year. I get to travel around 4-wheeling the mountains for work, (I even get the gate keys ) But I'm usually gone for a few days at a time, so I really enjoy the time home with family.
I head out to the barn...it's great therapy to brush my horse until he shines. Then put the saddle on and ride on out to enjoy the sunshine..the smell of hay..and freshly cut grass. Nothing beats that to take the stress out of a day. Weekends involve more of the same..but get the house chores done first!!!..very important...cuz if you try to do chores after horsing around all day the chores just don't get done. Work first..play later.

Oh this one's easy. Hop on the 2001 Shadow or in the 96 Vette and burn gas. No particular destination, just riding !!!! My favorite place to ride is along the Gulf of Mexico from Navarre to Pensacola Beach. The wind is usually cool and not much traffic. And yes you guessed it, we have no children!!!!
Periodic vacations with the family in our motorhome are a great relaxation, but on a daily basis my relaxation comes at the dinner table and later (usually around 11pm) sitting down with a book for 20 or 30 minutes (currently reading a pictoral history of the American farm tractor).
