It's actually going to be a temporary raising. The floor needs to be level for a near-invalid to able to negotiate the living room with a day-bed in place for him, but they want the living room to be able to be returned to normal when the time comes to sell the house. The section to be raised is only (roughly) 8X12'.
Pismo was great, hardly anyone there. Took the Bronco out onto the dunes a couple of times, and was happy with the performance. Check out the gtg thread in the SoCal chapter. I have also put up some of my pics in a Pismo album. We all have decided to make it an annual gtg, so I will be going down again next Feb. If I get a job between now and then, I may just go down there again for the heck of it.
No problem Joe, things happen, I didn't even secure the funds for gas until like the day before, so i didn't know if I was going or not. Luckily I was able to borrow money from my friend, and went. Had a good time, and will go again next year. If I get the settlement before next year, I will go in the F-250. The people selling it live in San Luis Obispo, so it would be a short hop from there. Forgot too mention another electrical gremlin showed up on the way back. There is a section of Hwy 46 where you have to turn your headlights on even in daylight, so when I did, it turned off the cruise control! And the right turn signal would not blink with the lights on. However, when I turn them off, it blinks, and I can use the cruise control again. Strange...
I was a bit worried about not having a spare, but was more worried about running out of gas. LOL. Yeah the cc works great as long as it is day time and no headlights are on.
I don't know if I would feel comfortable driving a vehicle with a non working fuel gauge. Especially one I could not push off to the side of the road when it ran out.
