For your truck, a 30 or 31x10.50x15 AT, not a mud tire. Air down to 15 to 20. This should give you about 11 inches under your transfer case skid plate. Move your front axle vent tube into the engine compartment and top it with a breather.
I have Wild Country XTX ATs and they are pretty good on the highway and slick surfaces, though they stink in GA mud.
Where is the front axle vent to located normaly and what am I looking for.
I did not know that It needed to be moved or change any guidance would be great
hey an i live at the beach here in florida. the best thing for sand is get the widest tire possible. i have a f-250 and before with stock tires i would have to use 4x4 on our beach. now i got 12.50's and i can go everywhere on the beach in 2wd just from the wider tire. i do have mud terrian 315's and about a month ago had all terrian 315's. the all terrains did better than the mud terrians cause they dident dig as much but there wasent to much diffrence i still went any where i wanted to in 2wd. i dont even air down i run my tires at 40 psi and thier fine. it just depends really on how soft the sand is if you need to air down or not.
Driver's side, top of the diff., a rubber hose with an S shape to it. Reason for moving it is you can easily get sand or sea water in the diff. from the hose, especially if it has cracked from age.
A F-250 is much stronger than a BII. The BII UJs can be nuked by P235/15 tires, never mind 12.50 tires while buried in sand. 10.50 tires are a good max. width for the small UJs/axle shafts in the front. BII does not weigh enough to put much flex on the sidewalls of a class C (or any tire) tire without airing down a lot.
Quickest I have ever R&R a front drive shaft is 70 minutes, in a shop. Doing it on the beach to get unstuck would not be my idea of a good time with a tide coming in
The new Goodyear MTR's are very aggressive, yet suprisingly quiet on the highway.
The cheaper alternitive is going down to 15 psi in the tires, whatever tires you have. You will be AMAZED at what that can do. Just air back up before getting on the highway
