auto tranny noise
Wrong fluid? I'd go back to the dealer and let them know. Between the fact that they just changed the fluid & that you're still under warrantee, you shouldn't have any problems getting your issues addressed.
they used quakerstate mercon fluid. i took it back and they listened but said nothing could be done until something broke??? i dont want to get stranded on a camping trip to the dunes or anyplace else. brought home pulled pan and drained torque converter, installed another new filter. took rear line off and ran about 1 gallon through system. refilled to full noise was there then i drove about 5 miles noise went away and cant get it to come back. taking out tonight to try again. seemed to be more fine metal in pan after only 200 miles.any sugestions
guys earlier in the day when i first put the new fluid in when in park it had a constant whine louder from rear of truck. drove and floored it noise went away. drove it 125 miles tonight no noise. wondering if i should change the fluid one more time. fluids cheap.
changed fluid one more time not nearly as much metal in pan this time but only 150 miles on fluid. drove and noticed a little of the noise at a shift point and a couple of times when decelerating to almost a stop i would get some sort of a squeal noise. my warranty was up about 5 months ago. im thinking of taking it to a tranny shop and letting them go through it. is there any beef up parts for these trannys if i decide to do this. i do have an after market warrenty but heard they are useless if you put a lift or big tires on i have 35s
