1966 engine v8 codes

1966 engine v8 codes
Can someone please help me with a question. I understand that in 1966 the f100 had two new engine options the 360 and the 390. I also think that these engines are stamped with 352 on the blocks. I quess my question is if my information is correct what vin or data code would identify these engines or is it the same letter y or 8 Thanks very much jeff1929

1965/67 F100/350: The only available V8 was the 352 2V
360/390 introduced in 1968 F100/350's, used thru 1976.
1958/71: 352 cast on FE blocks is a foundry mark only, doesn't mean squat.
The 4th digit of the VIN is the engine code.
F100/350: 1965: D = 352 2V / 1966/67: Y = 352 2V // 1968/76: H = 390 2V / M = 390 4V (1974/76 only) / Y = 360 2V.
1966/78 500/750 series trucks: D = 330 2V Heavy Duty FT engine.
