Alternator charges sometimes
Are you the original owner? Under Module Application it has CAL which I believe means it's a PCM for a California truck, but you have a GPR and not a GPCM that would be in a Cali truck. Makes me wonder if this is the original PCM. If not maybe this is what caused your problem. Or the info below is wrong.

I bought 2 PCMs from used parts dealers through car-parts.com. If you know what PCM Code you want and the ECM part number it's not
to hard to find one. Prices are all over the place but quite a bit of mony can be saved.
At this point, if it were me, I would go with manual GPR control.

Im getting tired and hitting the rack. In the morning I will PM someone who has loads of PCM knowledge.
EDIT: I tried to send the PM only to get a message that ths person chose not to receive PMs.
This has been done before but it is typically because the PCM wasn't sending the ground or someone just wanted manual control of the GPR.
I would use a momentary switch (hold to operate) so I would not forget to release the GPR.
There are 4 customer service wires that already run from engine compartment to under dash.
EDIT: Check out this by Ken (woodnthings). Thanks Ken. Customer Pass-Thru Wires There are 4 wires you can use.
Not sure you want my advice again.
Wire it to ground through a resistor, or better yet a spare GPR if you have one. This would simulate the way it was wired before you went to manual control and didn't get an SES light. Hope it works. If you use a GPR and it works then you will know the resistor value you need will be the ohms reading of the GPR winding.
