So I was replacing the plugs on my 06 5.4 f350 and everything went perfect till I was plugging back in the coils and injectors. As I plugged in the #3 cyl injector the clip on the plug broke. So now it has a mis and when I hold down the injector plug it runs fine.
So can I get a replacement from the dealer or do I have to go to the salvage yard??
I was thinking of just getting one plug and splicing it into the harness.
Will that work? What do u guys think.
I really want to avoid replacing the whole herness!!
This happened to me when I was working on my buddy's 01 F150 w/5.4. Orielly auto can get you a new plug, it comes with a pigtail you simply cut the old plug off and splice (I soldered and used heat shrink tube) the new one on and you are good to go.
Just make sure you wire it correctly, I hooked my buddy's up and it ran like dog ***** until I realized I wired it backwards. Too many beers that day I guess, good luck.
