Coolant Leak causing misfire
I have a '98 EB Expedition w/5.4 that has been misfiring on #1 & #3. It had been a come and go thing but now has settled into a come and stay. In desperation, I took it to the dealership where they presented me with an estimate of $2200 to fix (Yikes!). They re saying that a coolant pipe in the intake is leaking down onto the COPS and the entire intake needs to be replaced to remedy the problem. Needless to say, I didn't go for it. My question to the group is, does this sound right? Do I need to replace the intake manifold to stop the coolant from leaking down on the coils?
