OKAY, so I'm guessing that its my fuel pump. Second opinion is always wanted/welcomed.
I've got a 1992 centurion bronco. 5.8l, 4x4 e4od. Single tank, no fuel pressure from the fuel rail. I started at the self test plug, key on, 1 second ground then off. stays lit while cranking so thats good. Second, tested the relay just to double check its not messed up and its good. Next i ran to the spliced plug for the fuel pump (thanks centurion for not doing better work) and plug side colors goes as follows. Yellow:ground (weak though) pink with stripe:grounded til key on, one second then ground again. hot while cranking as well so guessing thats teh lead from the relay. black:grounded gray:grounded.
So, thinking my fuel pump just took a poo?
*P.S. Also checked the inertia switch and that wasn't tripped.
the only real way to know if it is the pump or not is to disconnect the wires at the tank and test for power there. if you have power, the pump is dead.
i didnt say it was THE ground, just reporting on the wire itself, being grounded or hot. yellow and gray are both for the gauge, black and pink are hot and ground for the pump.
