I am about 95% sure that the sensor in question is the Engine RPM sensor that sends the signal to the tachometer. And by the way, that's an IDI, not a Powerstroke .
he took a pic of his 88, and had a mechanic tell him that it was a cam sensor, however he told me the 94 has the exact same sensor, does this make sense, thanks
It is not the same sensor as the Cam Position Sensor in a 7.3 Powerstroke, but if the mechanic was talking about a 94 with an IDI, it would have the same sensor.
