Yeah, like that killer work bench you just built. For those of you that haven't seen it, he's incorporated a lot of neat features that I for one intend to copy. Hope you don't mind.
No prob man! glad you like it!, almost done my drawers then i`ll post up some pics on here!
I scour the HAMB daily, and I'll tell ya there isn't much tech on there recently, either. Relatively speaking, of course. I'm all for build and fab threads.
I guess I need to show some interest too,I'm for it. I think a lot of members are just doing like I have been doing ,just reading this thread and not showing interest. So ,come on everybody,if you want it ,say so. That's part of what it's going to take to get it started. I too am on the H.A.M.B. a lot, under a different user name and don't see as much going on there.______JIM
You rang? I think this is a great idea, and am willing to help, BUT......You'll have to pick someone to do the research. I Mod 8 forums on FTE, and spend 5-6 hours/day on here, plus just finishing up my new house and new shop. I myself just don't have the time to research all the past threads. If you or someone else wants to do the "leg work" and PM me with the appropriate fabrication posts/threads, I can open a new thread and "sticky" it at the top of the forum. I would lock the thread so it does not just become a BS thread. Fabrication posts or threads could be PM'd to me and I can put them in the new sticky. Would that work for you guys?
I love the idea of seeing others fab work. It is an inspiration for me to work on my stuff. And to attempt to built things myself. I've been working on a couple ideas in AutoCAD to work out my design... Love to see others stuff, even like me the planning stuff...
Wouldn't life be awesome if we could just use cad and send it to the machine?
"New bedsides COMING UP!"
Hi Jeff, basically that is not at all impossible, computer aided design is being used extensively in manufacturing. I, myself use autocad and have designed several items that I'm using on my build. I guess, maybe this is what is being discusse above...'I should post' some of those things in "the fabrication thread?"
