So I found this little harness in my trucks dash. It is still wrapped up in the Ford plastic and is brand new. It is for the trailer brakes. I have a trailer brake controller laying around that came out of my superduty.
Does said harness splice right into the brake control wires/abs wires or whatever they are, or is there more to it?
I guess the PO never had a brake controller in my truck i.e. there are no holes in the dash or anything. Hell by the looks of the carfax it has never left the state of SC and may have never been on more than 100 mile at once trip.

Did a search, but didn't find much.
Most contollers have a plug and you get an adapter that matches the controller to the plug you located in your truck, plug and play. You can splice, but don't just cut or butcher the plug in your truck. If you have an older controller, now might be a good time to upgrade to a newer digital elecdtronic model such as a Prodigy or Hayes G2. Plug and play makes a much neater installation. The improved braking will be considerable and the expense is not too great.
The plug is not connected to the truck. It is just in a plastic bag in the dash. It has a plug on one end, and open wires on the other. I think there are 4 or 5 wires on it. Will it plug into a plug that is already in my truck, then the open wires connect to the adapter for the brake controller?

That would be my guess. My truck has a plug, my controller has a plug, and I buy adapters to mate my controller to whichever truck I own. Pretty standard.
