Visor question

My '63 F100 currently only has one visor, on the drivers side. It's torn up but it looks like I can keep the arm and order a new visor.

So I need 2 visors and one arm for the passenger side.

My question is, are these visor arms universal (for either side), or specific to driver or passenger side?

Thanks,

Phil

PS: any input on good quality or good price visors will be appreciated!

These trucks came with one if they were not a Custom Cab. You can get one for the passenger side, but they are not the same. I put the second one in the 64 I had back in the 80's Lots of places have all the replacement pieces, I just bought replacement shades for my 66.

My Grandpa's '65 came with two. It is not a custom cab. I asked him and he said it came that way.

Here is a link for a place that will have what you need.... And yes the left arm, and the right arm are different, so specify which one you need when you order... they come primered, or chromed.

No doubt someone like NumberDummy will chime in, but I think they may have been like the padded dash. Standard with Custom Cab, but optional on all trucks. Dealers by the later slicks no doubt ordered few with 1 visor, as most people wanted two. My truck was the cheapest in most ways. Smallest engine, Tranny, Basic heat, no moldings, and Windsor white, but it had 2 visors, and a padded dash.

Padded dash was an option even on Custom Cab. I have examples of both. I do have a passenger side visor if someone needs one.

Visors on the RH was an option in the earlier years as noted prior. These were all the hardboard/cardboard type until 1964 when padded visors(2) became part of the Custom Cab package. The hardboard/cardboard visors were still standard on base model trucks

Thanks for the great replies guys, I have exactly what I need now. My truck is due back from the body shop this weekend. I need to double check the existing visor arm before I order to make sure I buy a matching one.

Jhootch, I might take you up on that passenger side visor! Do you have the arm and the visor both, and what kind of shape is it in?

I am of the belief the padded visors were issued starting in 1965...alo bore out by their p/n...the visors are the visor only...no arm and rod...I have a really nice cardboard one..RH side...lots of padded ones..

You're correct, kiddo...the p/n (part numbers) do define the year.

I omitted Safety from the following when I typed it in post 10:

C3TZ-8104104-AAB .. Safety Visor-Less Arm & Bracket-Gray / 1963/64 / Obsolete

Do you happen to have the separate Soft Trim Catalog that has colored swatches for all the upholstery, and all the part numbers that cover 1961/66's?

Have you ever heard of or seen any? I have, in fact I have two of them.

Next time you "swing on by," you can have my extra...plus a few other goodies: 1965/66 full line accessory brochures & paint chip charts I have extras of.
