Here is my issue, my 1977 F150 with 400, auto. Trucks been sitting awhile and before I fixed fuel delivery it would start and run for a second before the fuel went away(poured some gas down the carb). After I have sorted out the not getting any fuel issue ( rebuilt carb, new filter and new fuel pump). Now it cranks over but won't fire. It sounds like no spark. Check power to the little horse shoe clip on coil and there was power. But no spark from coil. Dead coil? or where do I need to start looking?
The pickup coil in distributor should read 400-800 ohms across orange and purple. Either one to black should read greater than 70K ohms. Coil should read .4-1.6 ohms across pos and neg, either one to output post 7700-10,500 ohms. This is for the stock Duraspark ignition.
