Sorry, I should have explained better. The TB w/the broken flange is from a model 59 carb which is another project of mine. The carb body has no vacuum port as does not the TB. The throttle dia are 1-1/4 inch.
Now the 7rt base I have does have the vacuum port on carb body and TB. Does all of this sound about right? I'm a newbie when it comes to Ford FH v-8's and carb's. My claim to fame is I'm the 2nd owner (my Dad was the first) of a 1955 Chevy truck 2nd series 235 6 cylinder.
Yes, that's right. I hope you keep your Dad's Chevy.
You say "I dig coal". That's what my Dad did in a coal mining town in southern Colorado for 32 yrs. I was 15 when my Dad bought the truck in 1955 and I hauled coal in it as a part time job after school. Get rid of the truck? When hell freezes over! I have thou, done a complete restoration... kept as much as I could stock. Engine has 79,000 actual miles on it!

You must be in the Stonewall/Cokedale area? A lot of coal-mining history there! (not all good)
I come from a long line of coal miners here in KY. I've read about the Ludlow Massacre. Horrible story. We had a lot of trouble here as well. Things like "Bloody Harlan" and the Matewan Massacre. My dad worked at the Scotia Mine when it exploded in 1976. He's been underground for 40 years. I would LOVE to see pics of your old coal truck.
