Exhaust flex pipe

Can't think of a single 1996+ auto that doesn't have flex pipe in it somewhere, and they are 100% Federal rules compliant.
The only federal rule I am aware of that concerns exhaust is that it is illegal to modify or remove a "noise mitigation device" (read: muffler) that was installed at the factory. In my state, which has notoriously rigorous inspection standards, there are ZERO per-se rules about exhaust. All that's required is that whatever comes out of the last opening in the pipe has to meet their emissions standards. They don't give two feces nuggets how the gases get there.
But I digress...
Ctubutis was in no way being disrespectful towards you, but I find it kind of funny you openly say that you felt he was calling you a lier.
If you feel so offended as to another persons disagreement on the internet, well, you better call your provider and have them shut off your service because disagreements are going to happen, regardless if it's through a computer screen, a telephone, or face to face.
I agree with the above.
If you want flex exhaust on your vehicle, then put it on there. If you don't, then don't. In my opinion, it's a **** poor way to run exhaust on anything less than a dump truck and should be avoided and pronounced sacrilegious as if you held up a cross to an unholy abomination.
Custom fab up your exhaust manifold or whatever your doing and go to an exhaust shop and get them to give you some mandrel bends and say DONE already.
At the point of using flex pipe my kit will be far from DONE, as stated here...
I guess I should have mentioned if I do use it it will be semitemporay
just to get it running. My plans are to add turbo in the future and since I can not find exact data on a 309 inline truck motor with 3x2 Webers and an AODE I need to learn/tweak that system before I add the turbo. Once that is done I would like to do it all in SS.Jim
Furthermore. This will be something interim while I tweak the base system to decide if I need a turbo or not. It will most likely be while in go-cart stage before the body is finished and installed. I am contemplating not needing any more power then what is offered by a puffed up over bored 300 in a 2300 lb Roadster but I really want the turbo.
Thanks for your opinion I asked for it and had left out some details.
Jim
