Both Clay at Riffraff and Bob at Diesel-o-Rings have the Alliant o-rings and Motorcraft GPs and for a good price too. I've shopped with both and am very satisfied. You can't go wrong with either.
Possibly hard starting in my situation, also have seen smoke and oil consumption in other situations.
Replacing them isn't to bad except I had to remove the solenoid and a rocker on mine to get the back passenger side injector out. There is a write up floating around I'll see if I can find it. I have to finish up replacing mine tomorrow evening as 430 comes early in the morning.
I will say it was a whole lot easier to do with the engine on a stand. And make sure to use Motorcraft/ Alliant brand o rings. Here is why:
These are Victor Rienz brand with 3000 miles on them. The reason I'm finishing changing mine now.
Also do GP's while your there. Well worth the 80 bucks to do while the valve covers off.
Is the burnt oring caused by the copper ring not sealing the cylinder?
I wondered that. They were like that when I took them out of the 01 motor. Mine that were in the 96 originally were spotless. Maybe the type of oil? IDK
