Drive shaft
ok guys this is what is happing,the nut that holds the drive shaft on the transmission is coming off, this is the second time it has happened,about four months back it came off and now again,the last time we peaned it with a center punch,still came off.just noticed it when i was looking for a grease fitting,do i need to buy a new nut,need some help here.

locktight red. it requires heat to remove.

New nuts come with the right loctite on them, and they are ...
well, they mess with the end so it bites when it goes on. I'm not sure what its called.
While using good loctite on it, it still might be a little sloppy.
I'd just grab a new one IMHO.

I was taught to always replace with new for stuff like pinion nuts.
Just the way they are designed and crimped to help them hold on.

i agree and do the same thing Bill, but there are times like 4 pm sunday when a vehicle has to be ready for the next day.
