I have a 2003 f250 with the 6.0. Its a 4x4 and just this weekend i heard it start clanking when i put it in 4 wheel drive and didnt think nothing of it. when i got back to town i put in 4 wheel drive again and every rotation there is a clank and it slows me down. It only does it in 4 wheel drive. its just hitting something or something isnt lining up or what. What do yall think?
well if its stopping you from going over 10mph its problably more than just an axle ujoint. Have you crawled under there and looked around. Transfer case maybe?
well i checked the u joints and no give so far. checked all fluids and there good. so i go to my buddies shop and we check it out. we think the driveshaft that comes immediately out of the transfer case to the front of the truck might be bad or that u joint right there.
