Replacing a running board light housing
I have a 2000 Excursion that needs to have the light housing on the front driver side running boards replaced because moisture keeps seeping in and burning out the bulbs. Has anyone removed the housing for the running board lights before? Any hints?

Replacing a running board light housing
I have....but my story isn't what I would call successful. The light I worked on only lasted a week or two and is out again. The moisture can come in from either side. My lense was loose. I removed the metal plate below the bulb housing first and then twisted the bulb out. I then pressed the lens out from the inside. After cleaning, I reinstalled the lense with clear epoxy around the edges. That cured the outside moisture problem. The bulb housing had corrosion inside and did not fit snug in the plastic receptacle and that is why I think the bulb is not burning now......but I'll have to take it back apart to know for sure. Maybe this will help you a little.
