I have a 2013 Ford F-250 king ranch 6.7 diesel. I just installed running boards with lights on it from a 2006 king ranch. My truck is prewired for running boards. Unfortunately the connector from the running boards doesn't match my prewired connector. I have gone to autozone and Ford dealership to buy an adapter but Ford said they don't make a adapter or the connector for a 2013 model. I would be fine just Hard wiring the new connector to the running boards but i don't know where to buy the correct connector since Ford or parts house doesn't carry it. Any thoughts of where I could buy 2 connectors? Thanks guys
Actually thank the FTE family as I got the number from another post here but it worked good. You can look at my build thread in my sig for details on the connection.
You can thank AZLugz for this. It is labeled as a speaker connector.
FYI on the Amazon speaker connector. It works fine, but it's an "interior" connector and it doesn't have any sealing gaskets, so moisture/road salt will get inside of it. You will need to put liberal amounts of Di-Electric Grease on the pins to repel moisture and prevent corrosion.
When I built up my harness for the running board lights, I shrink-tubed the back of the connector to block moisture from entering, Once it was plugged into the OEM Ford connector, I wrapped the whole connection like a mummy with electrical tape.
Is this connector behind the wheel well? I have a 2007 lariat, and was going to have a look for it with the idea of adding my own version of running board lights. Thanks
I think it is more based on the options on the truck, mine is a platinum and I think the other guys was a lariat, I know one guy that has an XL and said he did not have the plugs. Yours being a KR I would assume they are there. The plugs had caps on them on mine that had to be removed.
