The shift kit is the single best improvement I've made to the truck.
I'd have to agree on that.. every automatic should get one IMO.

Technically there is no converter lockup with the AOD just a switch at the 2-3 shift from the internal coaxal input shaft to the external body of the converter, so if you are feeling another step in there that suggests something else like a band isn't letting go when it should.
Thanks, Conanski. I really just botched my terminology. What I was trying to say is that the TC launch is not extreme. Your right, there's no lockup on these.
I'm not sure I ever had a "good" stock TC to compare against, but this one is barely noticeably higher stall speed but has a significant impact on acceleration from a stop. I haven't tried pulling or hauling yet, but don't expect any trouble. I've had a couple friends mention to me that the stocker is wimpy and would likely need replaced again sometime. This one was 3 times the cost so BETTER hold up!
For good measure I threw in a trans fluid cooler in front of the radiator (inline after the radiator cooler). Was thinking I may try to get a reading on trans fluid temp some time. Is this necessary, and if so what temp is a good temp?
