Yet another Door Decode request
I ordered the build sheet from Ford but that could take several weeks to arrive and I'd like to get started on repainting my interior pieces. I like the original color just that it's a bit faded. Below is my door sticker, mostly I'm just trying to figure out the interior color code so I can order my SEM paints.
My truck is a 1983 F250. The interior color code is "A". I've searched on the forums and haven't come up with anything specific but I saw some mentions that this might mean "black." The weird thing is, although my carpet is black, the interior trim pieces, dash, etc... all look (to my eye at least) like dark blue.
Anyway, maybe someone can confirm what the code says at any rate.

Hope this helps...
Now I just have to decide if I should restore it to black (real black) or go with an actual dark blue.
BTW welcome to FTE.

BTW2 please go HERE and finish filling out your profile so we can see where you're at when you post, OK?
Thanks for doing this, Ralph!

BTW, I'm interested in seeing some pics of your interior. I'm a fan of the black interior in these trucks.
Fordzilla, my interior looks (looked) precisely, exactly like yours, down to the wood panels on the doors and everything. Maybe I'm crazy, but in your photo I still kind of think it looks a bit blue! Just a very, very dark blue.
But anyway I agree that what I have is black, just faded. I think I'll restore it back to black both because it seems to have been a somewhat uncommon color scheme and also ordering the SEM paint will be easier that way.
I really wish I'd taken some photos of my interior before I tore into this thing. I only got the truck about a week ago. I plan to do a full restore but as I live in an apartment I decided to begin with the interior, which is more manageable. I'm taking photos of my progress but in my rush I forgot to take "before" pictures. I do have to say, this was maybe the dirtiest vehicle I had ever seen. I think it had been driven on dusty roads for a decade with the windows down, and probably never saw a vacuum cleaner.
But here's my dash now.... in my office.
I'll do a "build" thread once I have some progress to show.

I completely understand on the dirty interior part. The interior in my truck originally came from a 1982 F250 mud truck, so it wasn't in the best shape at all when I picked it up. Each piece cleaned up really nicely though, so it wasn't much of an issue.

You may be color blind or your eyes are more sensitive to blue than most.
Black is an amalgamation of all the colors. Black absorbs all the colors of the rainbow and does not reflect any (or almost any color in this case) back to your eye.
White is just the opposite. It's also an amalgamation of all the colors, but it reflects all the colors of light back and doesn't absorb any.
A lot of my pieces are cleaning up very nicely as you say, but the color on the trim is faded in places, or uneven. In some places, especially in the back seat area, it's almost as if the dry desert dust has soaked into the plastic somehow, because no amount of scrubbing or washing will remove it. So I think it will still look better with a re-paint.
Heck, maybe I'll even think it looks black! Otherwise I do have an appointment with the eye doctor coming up...

Definitely get them cleaned up and then take a look at the color. My door panels look dark gray in the pictures but definitely turned out black.

Here's a picture I took after cleaning one of the door panels up.
