Background... Deleted @ 5,000 miles. H&S Mini Maxx. Been great for over a year. Had update done soon as 11B23 came out. Returned to stock a few weeks ago to have some minor work done. Apparently there were some issues with the new flash and H&S. So while trying to return to stock, I had to get a certain file that wasn't loaded on my SD card. I havent deleted again because I was waiting for the Houston GTG to do downpipe and full 4" exhaust. Just noticed today the regen not only displays message, but it runs in Park. Didn't even notice except when I pulled through a drivethrough, the truck sounded horrible while sitting and the noise echoed off the wall and enhanced the sound. Threw it into park waited and did a System Check and the "Cleaning Exhaust" message displayed and RPM's were up to about 1100. Also noticed a slight sulfur smell.
My guess is the Mini Maxx reversed the 11B23 update.
I can't answer that about the standard pickups. The med unit I work on did it when it was new. I am not sure if it was just in the ambulance package or not.
Yeah, some of the original flashes back in the day of flames-shooting-out-the-exhaust would regen in park. I think the high idle mod still allows it, but I'm not sure.
I have seen it every time and for the duration of the regen ,mine is a job 1 .I was told it has the newer flash [CPO from dealer] and vehicle history shows a radiator replacement early with the leasee,so the truck was serviced by ford up to 57,500 miles .Any ideas why I always see the message? the sound is what first alerts me then confirm it with the message, then I swear .....
