I had to replace the heater core and after I got it all put together the reverse lights and cruise control stopped working, and very recently the heat stopped working and the fuse pops. No, I haven't where on the tranny is the dtr?
With everything turned off, pull fuse #5 and determine which is the B+ side of the fuse socket. Then switch your meter over to continuity and check the continuity between the non-powered side of the #5 fuse socket and a good ground.
If there is continuity, that circuit is shorted to ground . . . somewhere.
Probably gonna need a wiring diagram to follow the circuit. Unplug each connector in the circuit to see when the continuity goes away. When it does, you'll know which part of the circuit is shorted.
Found the short! It was the blend door actuator, apparently when the heater core started leaking, it leaked into the actuator and fried it, now I just have to get the actuator and replace it. At least my reverse lights and heat work! I have yet to check the cruise control. Thanks everyone for your help!
Yea, to access the actuator you need to remove the center console and the trim piece and you can see the actuator sandwiched between the hvac housing and the floor vents.
