The pictures were taken on different days. I was hoping to get a side by side comparrison for this question. I might be able to do the side by side this weekend, weather permitting. Never-the-less which is which?
IDK. We need a side by side in the same light.
If i was to guess right now i would say picture 2 is chrome and picture 1 polished aluminum. I say that only because chrome has a bluish tint to it just like picture number 2. And of cource aluminum is grey even polished just like picture number 1.
I found the pictures from the other day. No sun light on this day but these are the same grilles as in the first post.
number one

Lighting was bad overcast all day we even had rain. but these two grilles are one is polished aluminum and one is steel chrome
Yeah number one is aluminum. #2 is actually a fantastic chrome job. The shine is brilliant. The aluminum one is also very shiny just bad lighting. I've seen some bad chrome jobs and even some bad polishing jobs.
Chrome will always have a bluish hue to it no matter how many layer. And aluminum will always be grey no matter how good the polish job is. Those pieces look really nice. I wanna replace my 72 grill with a 69.
have you ever seen one nickle plated try a side by side i would take one in nickle..
who do you use as a plater i have 2 steel ones i need chromed/nickel plated

Seeing how your in Texas, you might want to check places out locally. Otherwise shipping charges would be your enemy.
