Between the Bulletproof & Sinister is one better than the other? I like the look of the BP as it looks OE & I still have an aftermarket extended warranty. I've read concerns on utilizing the stock up-pipe with the BP delete & it messing up flow to the turbo because you still have that branch off there to the EGR but now being blocked off. Anyone help me with any info on this?
Good luck on that AM warrenty covering anything at all they have those contarcts worded so they just about get out of everything
Mine was a 1200.00 peice of Toilet paper probably good thing they didnt have an office around where I live I might have ended up in jail for a night or two
I went with the sinister full egr deleate lost the cooler and changed the up pipe.
I havent heard of any problems about exhaust flow to the turbo with the OEM uppipe with it just being blocked off but thats also why I went Full deleate so I just changed that uppipe and havent looked back
It does take extra time to change out that uppipe kinda a PIA but can be done.
Bout to dig in to my top end to fix my HPO oil problem. I have the "No Power Issue" post. I plan on doing and EGR delete while I am that far in. I have an 04 (late 03 build date). Blade35 correct me if I am wrong but I dont think the 03/04 models have a scoop in the up pipe, so changing it should not make a difference in flow?? Do you remember seeing a scoop inside the up pipe where the egr outlet comes out of the up pipe on your 03? From what I understand the scoop is very obvious if it is there. The Sinister EGR delete without up pipe is about $249 and Custom Diesel has one for $109 without the up pipe. They look identical and both machined billet style. Anyone ever heard any pros or cons on the Custom Diesel EGR delete?
I have a custom diesel egr delete. It's sitting in a box in my office... However all the gaskets and such are there, and the welds look flawless. That's about as much info as I can give you though. I have not had the time to install, nor do I have the confidence to do it on my own right now.
I used River City Diesel but instructions were for crap. Tossed those away and used Sinister instructions. You can download them from their website. I don't think one is better than the other. Pick one and just do it. Plan on 12 hours. RCD kit changed out the 'Y" pipe for a straight thru.

That's correct, the '03 & '04 trucks don't have the scoop in the up-pipe. Thus if you put a block-off plate in the inlet side of the EGR your not going to upset the combine gods.
Is that scoop thing in the up pipe going to cause any harm if I did just the BD delete? Or it would be better to install the 03/04 up pipe with no scoop to not have to worry about it that way its all just going to the turbo nice & smooth. Why is there no scoop in the 03/04?

Maybe a little. All it does in help direct exhaust gases into the cooler. Just like turning off a facet in you house...it won't cause the system to stop working. The scoop "in place" may not be as efficient is the only thing I can think of.
