Chassis Dyno's

From the early through late 90's I worked @ a high volume Cummins engine shop. The chassis dyno was an intergral part of the work day (from trouble shooting, overhaul break-ins, electronic recal power runs) how come none of these Ford dealers have them for available to their techs? Especially knowing how loading on a diesel engine affects operation I would consider it as necessary as a set of metric wrenches. JMHO

Big truck shops have dynos to reduce the need for test drives with big ungainly vehicles and for the fact that its hard to to put a full load on a class A truck for lenth of time unloaded before having to shift. Pickups traditionally you could keep the engine under load long enough to figure things out, but its almost to the point of needing one. And I believe Cummins new engine break in requires full load operation before being put into service.
