My back cylinder has 0 compression so I need a new engine. All I am finding cheap are EFI engines. My question is if a decent carb engine doesn't come up what can I do about the lack of fuel pump provisions on the EFI motor?
Switching to EFi would just be a big PITA. I am already invested in the carb anyway with the 4bbl intake, and I think the carb engines perform better anyway. 351M Will that fuel pump be able to feed to a carb or is it a high psi.
Just because it has 0 compression doesn't mean you need a new engine.
Have you pulled the head and checked the valves and valve seats? Could be you just need a valve job. You could also just need a re-ring job or just need the bottom end refreshed.
If anything else, it could be something like a sticking valve that won't close, or a bent valve stem. Maybe even a blown head gasket.
Not saying you haven't, but I'd investigate a little better before going the new engine route, for the sake of saving money.
Be aware that the EFI has a different CR and chamber than your old engine. But it would be pointless to use your old head with the new engine because it sounds like a 75% chance whatever is causing 0psi is in the old head.
Well the mechanic said my sparkplug was bent from the inside as if something went through the motor. If something went through the motor he, and I both suspect it did serious damage. I also have a pretty high mile engine so I kind of want to find a lower mileage used one anyway.

When you drop in the new engine, pull the old one apart and let us know what happened. I'm betting it's a valve problem.
