New Backup Camera Installed

Today I installed my new back up camera. I used to have a different camera on there but I wasn't completely satisfied.

The pictures dont do it justice. Its very crisp and the colors are very vivid.

Here is a video of me backing into a space rather sloppily.
Parking using BOYO Backup Camera - YouTube

This is how close I parked in the video.

Nice... That's the camera Ive been looking at to go with my CTS.

Couple questions, is the cord long enough to reach the dash and does the camera block the state on the number plate.

Yes. The cord made it all the way to the radio. I have a CCSB a CCLB would not reach.

Yes, the camera does cover the name of the state. Mostly. If its against the law in your state, it does cover it enough to be worried about a ticket for it.

A couple of questions.

Why does the camera reverse the image? Does it do it when backing up to a trailer, so you go left when you should go right.

Also why would it be illegal to show license plates?

Thanks

Its called mirroring. Most cameras do that.

Also, he is asking if when you install the camera if it covers up the state name at the top of the plate, which it does.

Oh okay. I wasn't thinking that it would cover his plate.

Thanks.

Ive got a brand new one ive never taken out of the box.

I thought if I bolted it to my license plate it would get broke right away.
Stepping on the bumper and hooking up trailers both hit the plate sometimes.

Ive been trying to think of somewhere to put it that it would be protected somehow?

Well with a back up camera the trailer never hits the plate... sooo..

But my old one did break from stepping on the bumper. Thats why I got this one. Its metal.

What else would I need?

That not a bad price for a camera like that! I may get one for my Sony head unit. Does it just hook to 12V power then have a video output cable coming out?
