Strictly diesel fuel pressure hose issue

Strictly diesel fuel pressure hose issue
Any of you install the strictly diesel fuel pressure hose? Mine arrived today, I took the test port fitting out and was going to thread the adapter they supplied into the spot where the plug was and the flat spots on the adapter won't clear the fuel pressure regulator housing, should I shave the housing to see if I can get it to clear or is there something I'm missing?

Are you planning on installing the blue spring any time soon? If you are, use a T27 torx bit to pull the regulator cover off, the gasket should last long enough to check the pressures until you install a new gasket with the new spring.
If not, sand down (and I really mean sand, maybe an abrasive dremel at most, not a grinder) the corners the adapter, not the housing; it doesn't take much to put it into the port, an open end wrench wouldn't slip if all the surface wasn't there. Or pick up a brass fitting and use that to extend the hose out just a little.

Just bump it to a sander and take the corners down, don't round it all the way off. Worse comes to worse, grabit with the non-serrated tips of some vice grips for the final tightening. I don't know if there's a torque spec, but it's not much. Cartmanea cracked a filter housing putting in a brass adapter plug, so getting it tight shouldn't be a problem. Or just pop the regulator cover off long enough to put it in.
Everything looks the same size between ours, maybe your cover has a bit bigger area aroudn the torx lugs, or maybe your adapter is bigger. Dunno, pics are hard to judge.

They might find a fitting to replace the one made in china, but maybe it will increase the cost too much? All I know is I was the same way. It made me a little upset that I just received my hose today. With the intention of just slapping it in there and being done before dinner, well let's just say it didn't happen that way, but what does? I always find myself modifying anything other than OEM. So I guess I'm a little more used to it, well ,anyway got all done. fuel pressure looks to be a hair over 65psi at idle, haven't driven it yet. Just got it buttoned up and started it to check for leaks. Any way I used the sand paper roll on my dremel. Worked very well.

The fitting I received, after further inspection I realized that even removing the cover it would not work, there would be at least one high point hitting it, and I didn't want to be fighting the cover, spring, bolts vs just this fitting , I chose the easier route

Not to sound like a jerk about it, but this is one of the reasons I only deal with RiffRaff when it comes to aftermarket stuff for my truck. The guy practically only deals with Fords and is always interested in feedback if you have an issue with a product he sells. The adapter he sent me for my EV2 didn't have to be modified in anyway. Though I did discover I needed to put either an 45 or 90 degree elbow to keep the sensor out of the upper radiator hose. I have no clue where he's getting his, and other than the elbow issue (that I sent him an email about) I didn't have any issues.
I can't say enough how great his customer service is.
