Okay the only code i am pulling off my truck is a code 41,only problem is this bad boy is running rich. Have not checked the fuel pressure yet but i went from 7-8mpg to 3mpg.1989 f350 460.

Check the fuel pressure, Usually a bad fuel pressure regulator will allow the engine vaccum to draw fuel causing a rich condition. A simple test is pull the vac line from the regulator and see if theres any fuel in the line or coming out of the nipple. The regulator can be found on the fuel rail.

did that check on the regulator, small signs of a exhaust leak near the o2 sensor but not on the upstream side...o2 sensor is mounted almost like a cross over pipe between both sides of exhaust....going to check the o2 sensor next.

Was thinking that your 3MPG may have been based on faulty tank readings...sometimes they can feed or starve each other because of a valve fault...your former mpg 7/8 is terrible too, when was the last tune up? how much compression does she have left in her?

lol wish it was faulty tank readings...using the odometer and gallons put in the old gal. Running millitary tires so the odometer is off a little. With stock tires it was about 12.New tuneup stuff within the last 3months.

How near? even if it is a little downstream it can effect the O2 sensor readings.

going to fix the leak,just in case before i check the sensor. about 2". This is the first ford i have owned with this type of setup...lol last ford was a 74 model, and that was 15 years ago.
