What is everyone using if/when they need to jump their big trucks?
I've got an F350 and Ex - both 6.0 diesels, and had the batteries go out on my truck today. I'm replacing the batteries, but just wanted to know what everyone is using to jump their trucks when needed? I like to be prepared and ready in case anything comes up.
I use a set of high amp heavy duty cables made out of welding wire. I also have a large charger but usually the cables from one truck to the other will fire it off shortly.

Thanks for the info!
I used a set of jumper cables and was barely able to get the truck to start which is why I decided to look at the charger/starters.
The cables I used definitely weren't HD cables, and I expected them to get pretty hot, but they never did. I just couldn't get enough juice across to get the truck to start - I ended up leaving them connected for about 30 minutes with the Ex idling to re-charge the batts a little, then was able to get it started.
I'm really surprised - 85 views of this thread and no one has an opinion on the started/charger. Usually by now there's a war going on between the people that use them and the people that don't, or between guys that like one brand over another!
The holiday weekend probably had a good bit of people out playing or working on their stuff. I do not like the Schumaker chargers but I think I got a bad one once. It never seemed to work well. The one I have now is a lot better unit and is capable of charging 6,12, and 24 volts. I need to get a new timer for it as it will not turn off but that is a friend of mines fault.
