So you all saw the pics the seller sent me. Well today we got him back to the shop and I got started on scrubbing the nasty *** interior and trying to get rid of the smoke smell. Its dark, so the pictures look worse then before I started, its just wet. I removed most of the interior to get better leverage and into the little nooks to shampoo and scrub. Also started scrubbing the interior plastic to remove all the grubby-ness. Pics in the morning will show the progress.
Also on the agenda is fixing the front tank fuel pump, changing the rotted out freeze plugs and detailing the entire truck. Short plans are as follows.
Roush 200cc heads
Custom grind cam .556/.556 218/218 114*
Crane gold rockers
Long tubes
New cats
Custom side exit exhaust
Fixing various interior stuff
Brakes, fluids, blah blah
Sellers pics for those who didnt see
Todays pics.
Not looking to go crazy with this truck, just want to fix the small dents, buff all the scuffs out, give it a good wax and make it look like a presentable daily. The engine is being replaced because the very leaky rear main seal and the truck having 200k miles and me already having everything for it.
Looks great, I like the color combo. I see you are victim to the broken door handle. I have replaced many of those dang things.
Yeah it broke off while picking up the truck. I'm sure i have a spare left over from my old truck

Nothing like trying to get smoke out of a vehicle, lol!
i'm using granitize interior shampoo, they're a customer of ours and we get free **** all the time. I like it cause it has a light "soapy" scent to it thats not overpowering and leaves it smelling clean.
First i spray everything down till its pretty well saturated, scrub with a short pile scrubber until clean, vacuum. Saturate with water, vacuum again and repeat the process until its clean and there is no residue. Usually gets all smells out as well as stains.

So everythin is too rusty to put a wrench on. All the heads are completely rounded off. Doubt i can change the freeze plugs on the passenger side in the truck. And since its bleeding oil pretty badly i'm gonna yank the bitch out.
It's more fun to pill the motor and do those things anyways. Plus the Bronco you can do easy upgrades like headers and a new torque converter. Then a nice cam....
I know, I'm currently vehicle-less so i was hoping I could do a quick weekend fix but thats not gonna happen.
Engine is already layed out, unfortunately there is no money for headers right now so i'm gonna have to cork up this thing with the stockers for the time being.
New plan, its coming out, going to change the RMS, oil pan, and freeze plugs then drop it back in. Need to drive it now. Then next month i'll line up the new motor, maybe a trans too.
No i actually NEED to drive it now. All my vehicles(except my lady's 07) need engines. Blew up the engine in my 08, and both foxes have engines on stands waiting to go in. And since i need a truck to pick up parts this thing has to run now.
So over the past couple days ive been busting nuts loose, literally. Broke every stud on the manifolds trying to get them off. Engine is nearly out. Just need the bolts on the trans tunnel. So i'm going to remove the carpet since all the seats are out(to help with the tunnel cover),'cause i just cant get it as clean as I want in the truck. I'm going to remove it and soak it completely with shampoo, degreaser, scrub it until the pile starts to come off. Then pressure wash it until clean. Then repeat. i'll do the same to the seats in the hopes of removing the smell.
I've been looking into removing the covers on the seats, and tossing them in the wash and while apart soaking the foam in rubbing alcohol or something to kill the odor.
